Hailey Bright Gamette of the Year 09

Well, it was a nail biter there for a while with Hailey Bright and Jessica V. trading the top spot in our Gamette of the Year contest over the past week but just as 2009 came to an end, there was a last minute rally. The support we’ve seen for these two fine ladies has been phenomenal and it’s a shame that we can’t crown them both as our Gamette of the Year. But the fans have spoken and it’s the lovely Hailey Bright who wins it all!

Hailey joined our Gamettes on January of 2009 and it didn’t take long for her to make an impression on our readers. As some of you may remember, IGN made her their “Babe of the Day” on January 5th to which we responded shortly thereafter that we had given her a whole month. Well, now she’s gone and managed to take the whole year!

Hailey Bright is currently the co-host of Coin-Op TV Live, a weekly talk show serving up the goods on the video game industry. Hailey also co-hosted the DirecTV show, Championship Gaming Series, and can be spotted on the red carpet at gaming events such as Spike TV’s VGAs. Amid her busy schedule, Hailey still manages to get in some time for her modeling and acting careers, gracing everything from the pages of Elle Magazine to ads for video games.

For those of you who have not yet had the fortune of seeing the lovely Hailey Bright in action, you can watch her live on Thursday nights with host Rob Welkner on Coin-Op TV Live at 10pm CST or check out some of the previously recorded shows. If you check watch the live feed, you can ask questions in the chatroom Hailey monitors and relays to Rob during the show. Just don’t… ya know, ask creepy stuff. Freaks.

Scientists conducted a gaming survey of some 7,000 players who were logged into the game EverQuest II this year. With these statistics they discovered several interesting findings. One being the average age of the gamers surveyed was 31. And that playing time tended to increase with age. Which now brings in the sex differences…

The numbers showed that the female gamers actually logged more game hours (of Everquest II) than the males. The ladies had an average of 29 hours a week, versus 25 for the males, with the top players putting in 57 hours a week on the girl’s side, and 51 for the guys.

And another interesting thing, get ready for this…it looks like women are more likely to lie about how much they really play this game in particular. Researchers found that the gals tended to lowball how long they spend glued to the screen. (Surprise? And they make fun of all you World of Warcraft dudes who barely leave the seat to handle bodily functions! – notably called a ‘bio’.)

So there you go, when your gamer gal doesn’t answer her phone, and says she’s going to wash her hair, she actually may be tackling some high end mob in Norrath, anticipating how good it will feel to flash that epic loot in front of your hungry eyes. Go figure.

Just when you thought Halloween was over and you could put your fears of an impending zombie attack to rest, the gang here at Busy Gamer gives you Jessica V., our latest Gamette, and a photo recap of her rooftop adventures.

Fortunately, Jessica was ready for the zombies and prevailed against the odds to make sure the rest of us could eat our candy stolen from unsuspecting Trick or Treaters in peace… At least, that’s how the Reckon Crew got their candy.  Maybe the rest of you got it another way.

What is your favorite guilty geeky pleasure?
My fav geeky guilty pleasure? I don’t think I feel guilty about any of my geeky pleasures!

What is your favorite game?
Oh there are so many! The God of War series, Resident Evil 4, Double Dragon. I guess if I had to pick one game to play forever though, it would be Final Fantasy VII. That game has every game and element in it already. RPG, racing, snowboarding, RTS water, outer space, a wild storyline and so much more!
