And why not? Video Games have come a long way over the years and with new ways to get
your game on the internet and other platforms, it's a lot more DIY and just a little bit punk rock.
(And we here at BG love that!)

PAX featured their own "PAX 10" which was a showcase of indie games they chose to be
featured at the expo. A huge group of judges whittled down submissions of games into a
small group of 10, which was rated for their game play and fun factor. The PAX 10 also got
there own Kiosk in the expo where thousands of gamers got to check out their games and
give feedback to the creators. In short, with thousands of games out there, (some of them not
so good, or else you wouldn't be combing websites like us to know) you can pretty much take
comfort in checking out these 10 ultra fun games.

(We here at busygamer did, and we had a blast playing them... Keep an eye out for additional
features on certain games that were our favorite!)
THE ALMIGHTY PAX 10
Top 10 indie game devs of 2008
By Timothy Danger
One of the neatest thing about the Penny
Arcade Expo, was the attention to independent
gaming and developers.

Sure, you had the big guys there like Rockstar,
EA, etc... but you also had the little guys, the
small teams that got together in college
campuses, or other places and had great
ideas for games.

The PAX 10 for 2008 were:

The Amazing Brain Train: Train your brain
with 15 mini games and 3 play modes!
Quests! Trophies! Global on-line scoring!

AudioSurf: Music adapting puzzle racer. Your
music uploaded to the game creates your
own experience. The faster the music the
more intense. (Trust us I played to a Flogging
Molly song... yeesh)

Chronotron: Time traveling robot. Solves
puzzles with former versions of himself. Can't
change the past too much... He's a robot... he
travels time... dig it.
Impulse: A puzzle game that relies on magnetic and explosive forces... it has black holes,
that's all we're saying.
