LEFT 4 DEAD leaves lines
around the convention hall
By Timothy Danger
One of the most popular games at PAX (and
one we cannot wait to own)  was Valve's
"LEFT 4 DEAD"

The exhibit drew our interest immediately by
it's incredible long lines of gamers lined up in
theme park style zig zags.
Luckily for us, the press pass had it's advantages and we were ushered to a special press
room located inside the actual exhibit.

We sat down in the stools eager to play. The game is a 1st person style shooter featuring our
favorite cannon fodder, zombies!

When asked how many hours of game play it might take to thoroughly play this game, the rep
said "Like a billion,"  the game adapts to certain characters and players progress. There is
even a multiplayer mode (up to 8 players baby!) where players can be the zombies.
The scenario we
demoed took place in a
subway. These are no
slow Romero style
zombies. The action
took off right away in a
flurry of arms and teeth
heading straight for us.
While the simple
description may be a
yawn to the average
"been there done that"
gamer, the gameplay
was nothing short of an
adrenaline rush.
There were the 4 of us, who had never met each other suddenly thrust into a creepy subway
filled with crawling zombies... when one of them PUKES on a coplayer. "
Uh oh" the rep tells
us... Apparently the zombie puke is like the equivalent to an AXE body commercial for
zombies because a huge hoard came bursting through every dark corner of the subway and
dogpiled the poor guy, leaving us to shoot through the pile of undead to rescue him.

This is coming to XBOX 360  and PC too November 4th 2008.

If the line to play this game at PAX is any indication, this should be huge.
